Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.pregnancyeats.com.
Your access to and use of the Website is conditional upon your acceptance of and compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to everyone, including, but not limited to: visitors, users, and others, who wish to access or use the Website.
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of the Privacy Policy, then you do not have our permission to access or use the Website.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. When leaving a comment, we collect information you input voluntarily, for example: name or email address. Your IP address and user agent string from your browser are also collected to support spam identification. This data is stored only in order to connect you with any comment(s) you have made. Pregnancy Eats will not publish or sell your email elsewhere.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
Contact Forms
To assist with sending you requested information, we use Mailchimp to collect and store your email address. Mailchimp outlines their use of your personal data and anonymized data here. You may opt out of the collection of your data by unsubscribing (we will remove your data) and contacting them using the instructions on their privacy page.
To assist with sending you requested information, we use WPForms to collect and store your email address. WPForms outlines their use of your personal data and anonymized data here. You may opt out of the collection of your data by unsubscribing (we will remove your data) and contacting them using the instructions on their privacy page.
Contacting Us Directly
If you contact Pregnancy Eats via email, we collect your name and email address. This information will never be published, sold elsewhere, or used for marketing. We only retain this information in order to know who has made contact with us, and so that we can respond to you accordingly.
Newsletter Sign-Up
If you subscribe to our newsletter, Pregnancy Eats collects the information you have inputted, including your name, email address, and the time and date which you signed up. This information is never shared publicly. An activation link will then be sent to your email inbox, requesting that you confirm your subscription. Confirmed subscribers will receive a newsletter periodically.
All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded the email and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. This allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user.
You always retain the option of unsubscribing from the newsletter at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the email.
WordPress Plugins
Pregnancy Eats is a WordPress-based site which uses security plugins. All data collected by such plugins (browser type, location, IP addresses, date and time) is anonymous. The sole purpose is to protect Pregnancy Eats from hacks, malicious content and other security issues.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
We use Google analytics to record information about the pages a user has seen, for example the URL of the page, time of day, device used, etc. The information that we collect anonymized and sent to Google Analytics for analysis. Google Analytics mainly uses first-party cookies to report on visitor interactions on this website. Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookie.
In addition, Google Analytics supports an optional browser add-on that – once installed and enabled – disables measurement by Google Analytics for any site a user visits. Note that this add-on only disables Google Analytics measurement. Google Analytics also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide and protect the security of the service, and to give website owners a sense of which country, state, or city in the world their users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”). See this page for Google Analytics security and usage of data: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245
Using Pregnancy Eats means that you consent to information about you being collected by Google in the way described above. There exist tools and browser plugins that can prevent Google from doing so. You must refer to your browser documentation in order to do this.
